Mount Thelwood - 1731m/5679'

A sprawling mountain with a glaciated north side. It is located to the north of the Bancroft-Thelwood divide. There are several routes into the area described in 'Hiking Trails III'. The quickest is via the dozer road to Tennent Lake, then west through convoluted terrain to reach the col west of Thelwood. From here accent a snow couloir on the north side of a shoulder of Thelwood. Head NW over a snowy false summit to reach the true summit at the west end of the massif. Thelwood can also be easily ascended from the north and south. Class 2. DGB
