Highway4


This area contains the peaks accessable from Highway 4, which runs from Port Alberni to Tofino, Ucuelet and Long Beach. On either side of the Highway as it descends from Sutton Pass to Kenedy Lake are a set of 5000' peaks that are extremely rugged.

0km Welcome to Port Alberni sign on Highway 4. Follow signs to Tofino and Long Beach.
43.6? Mount Klitsa turn off on left.
43.6? Taylor River Rest Area. On left after bridge is road up Taylor River.
48.2 Sutton Pass.
48.5 Right to Pogo.
49.6 Kennedy River West Branch.
52.3 Marion Creek Access 1.
53.4 Marion Creek Access 2 on left. Access to: Adder, 5040, and Triple
59.1 View of Cat's Ears to the east and Hidden Peak to the right of the highway.

On the right is a gravel road that leads to a bridge across the Kennedy River. This then heads down the west bank for ~1.5km until it there is a major washout just before the Kenquot Main. Still good access to Steamboat.

66.0 Rest area on right.
67.5 Logging road on right as the highway turns into 4 lanes. Leads to east side of Hidden Peak and Kenquot Main.
